Who I am is as important as what I do.
It is when I am highly skilled and attuned that I do my best.
It is when I integrate my practice and my presence that I truly practice the art of
nursing – the art of Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing.
I bring to the patient and family more tha I often realize.
I know that :
If I bring confidence – they are fess afraid.
If I bring sensitivity– they know I care for them.
If I bring creativity – they know possibilities.
If I bring a centered and peace filled presence – they touch the spiritual in time and space.
If I bring information. they feel
respected and
involved.

Joining HPNA has been a transformative experience in my career. The bi-monthly academic activities and leadership training have equipped me with the skills I needed to excel in hospice and palliative care. Connecting with peers across the country has been an invaluable part of my growth.
As a GNM, the HPNA membership has helped me develop standards of care and understand the evolving landscape of palliative nursing in India. The quarterly meetings and updates on palliative care news keep me informed and inspired to improve patient outcomes.
